Aethelred II (978-1016), silver Penny, London mint, moneyer Leofstan, Crux type, BMC IIIa. Obv. Bare-headed bust facing left, holding sceptre. Rev. Voided short cross, pellet at centre, CRVX in angles. 1.62g, die axis 3h (S.1148; North 770). Some softness of strike otherwise with a nice cabinet tone and struck on a full and round flan. Good very fine.
