Cnut (1016-1035), silver Penny, 1029-1036, London mint, moneyer Aelfwine, Short Cross type with barbed sceptre. Obv. Diademed bust facing left holding barbed sceptre. Rev. Voided short cross with annulet in centre, angles plain. 1.09g, die axis 6h (S.1159; North 790). Superb strike with a light golden tone, a pleasing coin. Extremely fine.
