Edward I (1272-1307), silver Penny, c.1279, London mint, new coinage (1279 onwards), inverted N’s in legend, Class 1c. Obv. Crowned bust facing within inner circle. Rev. Long cross to edge of coin, 3 pellets in each central quarter within inner beaded circle. 1.3g, die axis 3h (S.1382). A very slight edge wave to flan, otherwise with a nice cabinet tone. Good very fine.
