George III (1760-1820), gold Guinea, 1798, early coinages, ‘Spade’ type, 7 strings to harp, 6 hearts, edge milled vertically. Obv. Fifth laureate head facing right. Rev. Crowned shield of arms, date split by crown. 8.43g, die axis 12h (S.3729; EGC 732). Lightly toned, with much underlying lustre. Good extremely fine.
