George IV (1820-1830), silver Halfcrown, 1825, edge milled vertically. Obv. Bare head facing left, date below. Rev. Crowned garnished shield with crest. 14.18g, die axis 6h (S.3809; Bull 2371). Light cabinet friction to the high points, a few marks (hardly visible with the naked eye), else a light, slightly patchy, but beautiful tone with iridescent highlights, much underlying lustre. Uncirculated or near so.
