Harold I (1035-1040), silver Penny, c.1036-1038, Thetford mint, moneyer Leofwine, Jewel Cross type. Obv. Diademed bust facing left. Rev. Cross of four ovals united at their bases by two circles, pellet at centre. 1.07g, die axis 3h (S.1163; North 802). A little die clogging otherwise an exceptional example on good quality silver, much underlying lustre, choice. Extremely fine.
