James II (1685-1688), silver Halfcrown, 1687/6, first bust, hair ties downwards, 7 strings to harp, edge TERTIO. Obv. Laureate and draped bust facing left. Rev. Crowned cruciform shields, angles plain, date split by English crown. 14.83g, die axis 6h (S.3408; Bull 754). A little obverse haymarking and tiny edge flaw near date on reverse, else with a steely grey even tone and some underlying lustre to reverse. Good very fine and rare.
