L. Julius L.f. Caesar, silver Denarius, 103 BC. Obv. Helmeted head of Mars facing left, control letter above. Rev. Venus in biga facing left, drawn by two Cupids, lyre below, control letter above, L. IVLI L F in exergue. 3.99g, die axis 4h (Sear 198 (RCV I); RRC 320/1). Graffiti below chin (barely visible with the naked eye), else with a pleasant light golden tone to obverse. Almost extremely fine.
