Victoria (1837-1901), ‘VIP’ Proof Farthing, 1875 H, Heaton mint, Birmingham, ‘Bun Head’ issue (1860-1895), m.m. H on reverse only, edge plain. Obv. Young laureate bust facing left. Rev. Britannia seated facing right, lighthouse to left, ship to right, date in exergue, ‘H’ below. 2.83g, die axis 12h (S.3958; Freeman 533). Small spot behind head on obverse and behind lighthouse on reverse, otherwise the fields with an attractive iridescence not captured in the photos, delightful in hand and highly desirable, choice. Freeman R19, only 2-5 examples known, excessively rare thus.
