Commonwealth (1649-1660), silver Crown, 1652, Large 2, m.m. Sun on obverse only, edge plain. Obv. Shield within wreath, mintmark above. Rev. Conjoined shields with value above, date in legend above value. 29.93g, die axis 6h (S.3214; North 2721; Bull 5 (for type)). Small contact mark next to VS, some light striking stress marks on the Maid of Erin and to the corresponding part of the reverse with some light double striking to legends, otherwise with pleasing fields and a nice even strike, the tone a steely grey, a coin with good presence and superb eye appeal. Choice extremely fine and rare in this condition.
