George III (1760-1820), gold Half-Guinea, 1775, early coinages, 7 harp strings, 6 hearts, large crown, italic 1 in date, edge milled diagonally. Obv. Fourth laureate head facing right. Rev. Crowned shield of arms, date split by crown. Die axis 6h (S.3734; EGC 815). Lightly toned over lustrous fields with sharp detail, nice in hand and the first year for the bust type. Rare. Slabbed and graded by NGC as MS63.
