Anglo-Saxon (680-710), silver Sceat, Early Anglo-Saxon period (c.600-775), Primary Series, ‘Stepped cross’, Series E, type 53. Obv. Degenerate head facing right, pelleted bar to right. Rev. Stepped cross of pellets, pellet in each quadrant, annulet in centre. 1.00g, (S.785 (this coin); North 150; SCBI 69, 290 (this coin)). Lightly toned and of good quality metal, a desirable piece. Good very fine.
