Anglo-Saxon (c.600-775), silver Sceat, 695-740, Early Anglo-Saxon period (c.600-775), Continental issues (c.695-c.740), Porcupine type, Series E, variety G1. Obv. Insect like quilled crescent, X in box, trefoil and cross pommée in beaded compartment below. Rev. Double beaded standard, central annulet, pellet in each angle. 1.18g, (S.790D; SL 89-10; SCBI 69 207 (this coin)). Great metal with some attractive iridescent toning. Almost extremely fine.
