Anglo-Saxon (695-740), silver Sceat, Early Anglo-Saxon period (c.600-775), Continental issues (c.695-c.740), Porcupine type, Series E, late variety. Obv. Quilled crescent coiled right, enclosing bold cross pommée. Rev. Beaded standard, crossed corners containing central annulet, right angles and lines in opposing corners, crescents in margins. 1.05g, (S.790C; SCBI 69 229 (this coin); SL 97-20 (plate coin)). Darkly toned on an oblong, somewhat chunky flan, a nice coin in hand. Good very fine.
