Anglo-Saxon (695-740), silver Sceat, Early Anglo-Saxon period (c.600-775), Continental issues (c.695-c.740), Series D, type 8. Obv. Beaded standard, pellet-in-annulet at centre, angular symbols surrounding. Rev. Cross pommée at centre, pellets in angles 0.90g, (S.793 (plate coin); Sceatta List 10-10 (plate coin); SCBI 69, 180 (this coin)). Some very faint traces of verdigris to the periphery, otherwise of good quality, bright silver, a nice example of the type and the Spink plate coin. Almost extremely fine.
