Anglo-Saxon (710-760), silver Sceat, Anglo-Saxon England, Saltire standard, type 70, Hill variety, Eclectic Series. Obv. Saltire pommeé at centre, within beaded standard, pellet in each angle, a line of three pellets above, symbols in margins. Rev. Annulet at centre of beaded standard, two right angles surrounding, symbols in margins. 0.90g, (SL 13-170; Abramson 737). A slightly patchy light tone, otherwise a pleasing example of this scarce type. Good very fine to about extremely fine and scarce.
