Anglo-Saxon (710-760), silver Sceat, Early Anglo-Saxon period (c.600-775), Secondary Series, Series T, type 9, variety 3. Obv. Diademed bust facing right wearing jewelled tunic, cross pattée to right of bust. Rev. Quilled crescent to left, enclosing four pelleted bars below. 1.01g, die axis 12h (S.815; North 80; SCBI 69, 780 (this coin)). The flan perfectly full and round, delightfully toned with bold devices, a stunning example and desirable thus. Choice extremely fine and very rare, especially so in this condition.
