Caracalla (AD 198-217), silver Denarius, AD 213, Rome mint. Obv. Laureate bust facing right. Rev. Hercules standing facing, head left, holding branch and club, Lion’s skin over arm. 3.62g, die axis 6h (Sear 6828 (RCV II); RIC 206a; RSC 220). Once lightly cleaned, nonetheless of good fabric with traces of original finish, boldly struck with a pleasing portrait. Almost extremely fine.
