Charles I (1625-1649), gold Crown, 1625-1626, London (Tower) mint, under king, broader bust, Group A, m.m. lis/lis. Obv. Crowned ‘Coronation’ bust facing left, value in roman numerals behind. Rev. Crowned square-topped shield of arms. 2.11g, die axis 11h (S.2710; North 2180; Schneider II. 223). Lightly toned with reddish highlights, turning darker in places, an attractive and confidently struck coin presented on a full, round flan. Very fine.
