Charles I (1625-1649), silver Penny, 1625-1642, London (Tower) mint, under King, Group A, type 1a, m.m. two pellets/two pellets. Obv. Rose, no inner circle. Rev, Rose within inner circle. 0.46g, 13.3mm, (S.2838). Lightly clipped with some original ‘find’ dirt to the recesses, the reverse a little off centre, nonetheless boldly struck and pleasing. Very fine.
