Charles I (1625-1649), silver Shilling, 1636-1638, London (Tower) mint, No inner circles, no CR, Group D, 3a, m.m. tun/tun. Obv. Fourth, double arched, crowned bust facing left wearing lace collar, mark of value behind. Rev. Round garnished shield of arms. 6.01g, die axis 6h (S.2791; North 2225). Small old mark in front of face, otherwise the flan broad and of excellent silver quality, delightfully toned with a pleasing portrait, the legends well defined and bold, a lovely example. Good very fine or better.
