Charles I (1625-1649), silver Shilling, 1639-1640, London (Tower) mint, under the King (1625-1642), Group F, m.m. triangle/triangle. Obv. Sixth large ‘Briot’s’ bust facing left with double arched crown and stellate lace collar, mark of value behind. Rev. Square topped shield of arms over cross moline. 5.88g, die axis 9h (S.2799). The bust weakly struck and the flan a little irregular otherwise lightly toned, the reverse better. About fine.
