Charles I (1625-1649), silver Shilling, 1646-1648, London (Tower) mint, under Parliament (1642-1649), Group G, Sharp H3/2, m.m. sceptre/sceptre. Obv. Seventh crowned, short broad bust, facing left, mark of value behind. Rev. Square-topped shield over cross moline within wire line inner circle. 5.71g, die axis 5h (S.2804; North 2234; SCBI 33 569). Small edge split otherwise delightfully toned and centrally struck on a round flan, a nice example of the type. A bold very fine and scarce.
