Charles II (1660-1685), silver Crown, 1677, milled coinage, edge VICESIMO NONO. Obv. Third laureate and draped bust facing right. Rev. Crowned cruciform shields, interlinked C’s in angles, date split by English crown. 30.13g, die axis 6h (S.3358; Bull 398). A few light contact marks, nonetheless a very pleasing coin, struck on a broad flan and well above average for type, the tone a light grey with purple hues. A bold good very fine or better and scarce.
