Cnut (1016-1035), silver Penny, 1024-1030, Thetford mint, moneyer Tidraed, Pointed Helmet type, BMC XIV. Obv. Bust facing left, wearing pointed helmet and holding sceptre. Rev. Voided short cross, annulet in centre, each quarter with annulet enclosing pellet. 1.03g, die axis 12h (S.1158; North 783). Well struck on good quality metal, lightly toned and free of peck marks, a nice example. Almost extremely fine.
With old CNG inventory ticket (grading this coin as EF).
