Cnut (1016-1035), silver Penny, 1029-1035, Lincoln mint, moneyer Leofing, Short Cross type, BMC XVI. Obv. Diademed bust facing left holding sceptre. Rev. Voided short cross with annulet in centre, angles plain. 1.10g, die axis 1h (S.1159; North 790). Well struck on a full flan with virtually all outer beading visible, deep grey tone with hints of blue fluorescence, the portrait bold, a attractive coin in hand. Almost extremely fine.

With old collector’s ticket indicating previous purchase from E. Gans in 1947 for $20.
