Cnut (1016-1035), silver Penny, 1029-1035, York mint, moneyer Crucan, short cross type, BMC XVI. Obv. Diademed bust facing left holding sceptre. Rev. Voided short cross with annulet in centre, angles plain. 1.08g, die axis 6h (S.1159; North 790). Some peripheral and portrait striking softness, otherwise lightly toned and well centered, a collectable example. Very fine.
