Cnut (1016-1035), silver Penny, c.1017-1023, Thetford mint, moneyer Leofwine, quatrefoil type, BMC VIII. Obv. Crowned bust facing left within quatrefoil. Rev. Voided long cross on quatrefoil with pellets at cusps. 1.07g, die axis 3h (S.1157; North 781). Struck on good quality silver, the portrait concise. Good very fine/about extremely fine.
Formerly slabbed and graded by NGC as AU53 with accompanying slab ticket.
