Commonwealth (1649-1660), silver Crown, 1653, Inverted A for V in VS, m.m. Sun on obverse only, edge plain. Obv. Shield within wreath, mintmark above. Rev. Conjoined shields with value above, date in legend above value. 29.90g, die axis 6h (S.3214; Bull 7). Some areas of weakness as often encountered for the type, otherwise a gentle grey cabinet tone over lustrous fields, a good example of this rarer variant. Almost extremely fine and rated ‘R3’ – extremely rare by Bull.
