Commonwealth (1649-1660), silver Shilling, 1655, m.m. Sun on obverse only. Obv. Shield within wreath, mintmark above. Rev. Conjoined shields with value above, date in legend above value. 5.61g, die axis 5h (S.3217; North 2724). The flan a little ragged with some minor weakness, otherwise lightly toned and pleasing, one of the key dates in the Commonwealth Shilling series. Good very fine for issue and a very rare date.
