Catuvellauni & Trinovantes, Cunobelin, gold Stater, c. AD 10-43, Cumulodunum mint, Cunobelin Linear type. Obv. Corn ear flanked by CA MV, pellet above M, privy mark + below CA. Rev. Horse leaping facing right, branch and two pellets above, CVN [the N partially off flan] below. 5.53g, die axis 4h (ABC 2774; S.281). A trifle off centre but free of any contact marks and only trivial metal stressing, overall a delightful coin of good metal, lightly toned and lustrous, the details bold, desirable thus.
