Edward I (1272-1307), silver Penny, 1280-1281, London mint, new coinage (1279 onwards), Class 3g. Obv. Crowned bust facing. Rev. Long cross to edge of coin, 3 pellets in each central quarter within inner beaded circle. 1.31g, die axis 1h (S.1393; North 1022). Some weakness and a small edge chip to flan, otherwise with a bold and pleasing portrait for the type. Very fine.
