Edward I (1272-1307), silver Penny, 1280-1281, London mint, new coinage (1279 onwards), Class 3d. Obv. Crowned facing bust within beaded inner circle. Rev. Voided long cross, three pellets in each angle. 1.30g, die axis 1h (S.1390; North 1019). Well balanced wear beneath evenly toned surfaces with only a few minor contact marks, a presentable coin. A bold very fine.
