Edward I (1272-1307), silver Penny, 1282-1289, Canterbury mint, new coinage (1279 onwards), Class 4c, m.m. CANTOR on reverse only. Obv. Crowned facing bust within inner beaded circle. Rev. Voided long cross, three pellets in each central quarter. 1.20g, die axis 2h (S.1396; North 1025). Slightly irregular flan, otherwise demonstrating a deep cabinet tone, a collectable example. Very fine.
