Elizabeth I (1558-1603), silver Sixpence, 1562, milled coinage (1561-1571), m.m. star/star, edge milled vertically. Obv. Large broad bust, crowned, facing left wearing elaborately decorated dress, small rose behind. Rev. Long cross fourchée over shield of arms, date above. 3.02g, die axis 6h (S.2596; North 2027). Small attempted piercing to each side otherwise a problem free coin and pleasantly toned. About very fine, the reverse better.
