Britannia seated facing left, date in exergue. 4.61g, die axis 12h (Peck 790). Small edge bump at 8 o’clock, otherwise, with a light steely grey tone over lustrous surfaces, a pleasing example of this type. Extremely fine and rare.

Ex. The Chichester Collection of Farthings.
Ex. Spink Auction 15006, 22/09/2015, Lot 674

For comparison, a similar coin, albeit a fraction better quality to the one on offer here, sold through Heritage, Auction 3089, lot 32709 in January 2021 realising $6600, approximately £5200 total, making this current offering seemingly excellent value.
