George I (1714-1727), gold Guinea, 1726, edge milled diagonally. Obv. Fifth laureate head facing right. Rev. Crowned cruciform shields, garter star in centre, sceptres in angles, date split by English crown. Die axis 6h (S.3633; EGC 525). A few light hairlines for completeness, otherwise a delightful coin with much eye appeal, well struck with a light tone and lustrous fields, desirable thus. Scarce in this grade. Slabbed and graded by NGC as AU58.
