George II (1727-1760), gold Two Guineas, 1738, Repositioned legend, young head, 8 harp strings, 8 hearts, Dies E/5 (Sch. 4/5), edge milled diagonally. Obv. Young laureate bust facing left. Rev. Crowned shield of arms with date split by crown above. 16.71g, die axis 6h (S.3667B; EGC 569). Attractively toned with lustrous fields, a coin with considerable eye appeal in-hand, desirable thus. Slabbed and graded by NGC as AU58.
