George II (1727-1760), silver Crown, 1743, roses in angles, edge DECIMO SEPTIMO. Obv. Old laureate and draped bust facing left. Rev. Crowned cruciform shields, garter star in centre, roses in angles, date split by English crown. 30.12g, die axis 6h (S.3688; Bull 1667). A few light harlines, not detracting however from this otherwise bold portrait coin, beautifully toned with flashes of purple fluorescence to the reverse, much underlying lustre and with good eye appeal, in our opinion somewhat strictly graded. Slabbed and graded by NGC as AU58.

NGC Certification: 6768159-002
