George II (1727-1760), silver Shilling, 1750, thin/narrow 0 in date and small legend, 7 strings, 8 hearts, edge milled diagonally. Obv. Old laureate and draped bust facing left. Rev. Crowned cruciform shields, garter star in centre, angles plain, date split by English crown. Die axis 6h (S.3704; Bull 1729). Only minimal wear to the high-points, otherwise demonstrating a subtle tone over fields radiating with original mint brilliance, a superb coin with good eye appeal and although a common variety, scarcely encountered this nice. Slabbed and graded by NGC as MS62.
