Sold - Sep 21
George II (1727-1760), silver Sixpence, 1758/7 (?), 6 strings, 6 hearts, the underlying figure of the overstrike is unclear but likely a 7, edge milled diagonally. Obv. Old laureate and draped bust facing left. Rev. Crowned cruciform shields, garter star in centre, angles plain, date split by English crown. 3.00g, die axis 6h (S.3711; Bull 1763/4). The light golden tone to the periphery of both the obverse and reverse, coupled with hints of lustre, make this an appealing coin in hand. Almost extremely fine.
