George III (1760-1820), silver Shilling, 1763, early coinage, ‘Northumberland’ type, edge milled diagonally. Obv. Laureate and draped bust facing right. Rev. Crowned cruciform shields, garter at centre, date split by shield above. 6.10g, die axis 6h (S.3742; Bull 2124). A steely grey tone over much underlying lustre, a nice example of this popular issue. Extremely fine or better.
