George III (1760-1820), copper Farthing, 1773, first issue, Obverse 2, edge plain. Obv. Laureate and cuirassed bust facing right. Rev. Britannia seated facing left, date in exergue. 5.13g, die axis 6h (S.3775; Peck 913). Struck from slightly rusty dies resulting in some parts showing granularity and just a light tone in places, none of which detracts from this otherwise lustrous coin, virtually full original colour and pleasing in hand, desirable thus. Practically brilliant uncirculated and scarce in this condition.
