George III (1760-1820), gold Guinea, 1783, early coinages, Arabic 1 in date , edge milled vertically. Obv. Fourth laureate head facing right. Rev. Crowned shield of arms, date split by crown. 8.37g, die axis 6h (S.3728; EGC 704). A few trivial contact marks, nonetheless a pleasing coin with flashy, lustrous surfaces. Extremely fine and listed as ‘R2 – very rare’ by bull.
