George III (1760-1820), gold Guinea, 1794, early coinages, ‘Spade’ type, 7 strings to harp, 7 hearts, unlike the Bull plate the 7 in date is not linked to shield, edge milled vertically. Obv. Fifth laureate head facing right. Rev. Crowned shield of arms, date split by crown. 8.37g, die axis 12h (S.3729; EGC 725). A few light contact marks, otherwise toned with some lustre. Extremely fine.
