George III (1760-1820), gold Half-Guinea, 1795, early coinages, ‘Spade’ type, 7 strings to harp, 7 hearts, edge milled diagonally. Obv. Fifth laureate head facing right. Rev. Crowned shield of arms, date split by crown. 4.20g, die axis 12h (S.3735; EGC 838). A few trivial hairlines and lightly toned, an acceptable example. Very fine and a scarce date.
