George III (1760-1820), copper bronzed proof Twopence, 1797, Birmingham, Soho, ‘Cartwheel’ type, second issue, K:. on truncation, m.m. SOHO on reverse only, edge plain. Obv. Laureate and draped bust facing right. Rev. Britannia seated facing left, date incuse on raised rim below. 56.89g, die axis 6h (S.3776; Peck 1068). A few small spots and light contact marks, otherwise delightfully toned and pleasing. Choice uncirculated and scarce.
