George III (1760-1820), copper Proof Farthing, 1799, Birmingham mint, moneyer Soho Mint, late Soho (third issue), raised dot on truncation, m.m. SOHO on reverse only, edge grained in centre. Obv. Laureate and draped bust facing right, date below. Rev. Britannia seated facing left above waves, ship to left, ‘1 FARTHING’ below. 6.09g, die axis 6h (S.3779; Peck 1271). Toned with hints of blue-green, flashy problem free fields, the bust with a pleasing and somewhat cameo effect. As Struck.
Formerly slabbed and graded by CGS UK as 85 (now removed from slab) with accompanying slab ticket.
