George IV (1820-1830), silver Proof Sixpence, 1821, edge milled vertically. Obv. Laureate head facing left. Rev. Crowned garnished shield, date in legend. 2.84g, die axis 6h (S.3813; Bull 2423). A few trivial hairlines under magnification otherwise a simply wonderful coin, the fields shimmering with a beautiful golden-purple iridescent tone, a choice example. Virtually as Struck and very rare.
