Henry III (1216-1272), silver Penny, AD 1248, London mint, moneyer Nicole, Voided ‘Long Cross’ coinage (1247-1279), Class 2a. Obv. Crowned facing bust within inner circle. Rev. Voided long cross, three pellets in each angle. 1.55g, die axis 4h (S.1361; North 985). A little weakness in the reverse legend, otherwise centrally struck with a nice portrait. A bold very fine.
